A little about me
Hi! My name is Cate, and I have been in the photog biz for the last 3 years. I love it! I am a student at the University of Kansas, majoring in French, which leads me to this very important fact! In order to broaden my knowledge of the language and the culture, I will be studying in Angers, France from January until June of 2009! I’m SO looking forward to this opportunity, but I’m also very nervous at the same time, and sad to have to put this to the side for awhile!

Cate!!!!! Hey I haven’t seen nor talked to you in a long time but just wanted to drop you a quick note to say HI.
Unfortunately I don’t see your dad as much as I used to (of course everyone is busy), but get together with him and Mike McEnany at least a couple of times a year.
Admittedly I’ve caught up a lot based on what I saw in your “bio” on the High School Confidential series. Girlfriend, you have been through a lot, but sounds like some great things are happening in your life. I hope to get a chance to see you and Kelsey again sometime soon (next time your in KC you guys need to come visit us). Call me anytime. My cell is 816.582.6679.
Cate, I will always remember when you, Kelsey and your dad would come over to our house back when I was still a single guy with two young kids (Zach and Emily) trying to get my life back in order after a divorce. Your family was so loving and important in helping me through my tough times (I love your dad like a brother). And then after my daughter died, I would find comfort in imagining that she would have grown up to be as cheerful and loving as you and Kelsey.
I’m sorry for all you have gone through, but what an inspiration you are. As my kids (Zach and my two step sons) go through school I just hope as a parent I can help guide them through all of the joys and struggles of being a teenager. You will be my inspiration to do the best I can as a parent.
I hope things are going well for Kelsey. I love you both.
Take care and good luck with college and your photography business.
Love,
Keith Tate
Cate,
I just watched an episode of High School Confidential that featured your story. I have to say: you are an inspiration to so many teenagers (including my niece), who will see how life isn’t all about the drama that is high school.
With all your tough times and pain, you managed to come out of it a better person and a strong young lady.
You are very lucky to have such a great dad. Don’t ever forget that.
I wish you the best of luck with your studies in France and with your photography.
Best wishes,
Dean
p.s. Stick to the photography thing. You have a great talent. I wish I took my love for photography seriously back in high school. Instead, I’m having to start much later and try to catch up with pros like you
.
Hi Cate –
After seeing you on WE’s High School Confidential, I just HAD to research you and here I am! I have to say that for such a young person that has been through so much in life, you completely inspire me. I am young myself and have gone through a lot of the same, yet different, issues you have. And just like you, I find solitude in photography. I just want to tell you that you are an AMAZING photographer!! Keep up the awesome work, I will definitely be back to see more!
Take Care & God Bless!

Hi there!
I just wanted to say that I saw your bio on High School Confidential decided to google you after I saw you had your own photography business. I think your story will help so many young girls and really be inspirational to them. Also I wanted to say that I think you’re a great photographer. I’m a young mother, wife and photographer myself. I own my own photography business and I really like your work. I do on location and studio photography both.
I wish you all the best in college
(Im going back after my husband finishes)
and with photography. If you have the passion the possibilities are endless!

After watching your story on High School Confidential, I just had to look you up. I’m a full-time busy college student majoring in Photography in Texas. I’m also a busy mom of 3 children (one is already a teenager). I had to find you to tell you how very proud to see your bravery of giving the details of your battles with depression, etc and hearing all the struggles you felt in your blended family. I remember being a teenager in a blended family. I dvr’d this episode and will be extremely proud to show it to my children (who are also living as a part of a blended family) and let them see what a great role model you are! *this is where you should reach around and pat yourself on the back!* I’m also very proud to show them that even when you think you’re in it all alone, you can see (eventually) all the people that are behind you and supporting you. Yours is a story that represents my number one philosophy of ‘if you have a talent -you’re never too young (or in my case too old) to get out there and bless the world with it’!!!!!
Best Wishes for a life full of happiness,
~Amber Fields
Cate!
I watched your episode on HSC and I can say your story I think is the most heartfelt I’ve seen yet. It’s amazing how resilient teenagers are and I had to google you to tell you that. I work with the teenage girls at my church and we will be having a fellowship on Saturday and I will be showing them your episode. I think it’s amazing how much one person can take and still come out to be a successful person. Please keep up the good work. I’ll be stalking your blog to check out some of those beautiful wedding pics!
Thanks for sharing your story with everyone on High School Confidential and also for sharing your photography here. You really are an awesome person!
Hi Cate,
I work with you Aunt Martha and I was was looking at your website. The pictures and great! My daughter is going to be a senior in the fall and want to have senior pictures taken probably in August or September. I love your work but would like to get an idea of cost. Can you give me an idea and also what your schedule is like during that time. Thanks,
